So when it comes to choosing a city or town to settle in for work or studies , people have different views depending on factors like lifestyle, age, career goals amongst others personality too. All these things determine whether you will settle to live in a smaller town or a big city. Today we are however going to talk about the pro’s of living or studying in a smaller city.
Foremost you do not need a magician to tell you that it is cheaper, you already know that most of the things are going to be easily accessible. This is however up for debate but in smaller cities like Lugo, La Coruna etc, it is guaranteed to be cheaper than living in Barcelona or Madrid. Reasons could be that there are fewer people and therefore instead of increasing the prices to compete, they lower them as their strategy to lure in customers. Things like housing, feeding, clothing and transport are more than fifty percent cheaper than in bigger cities. Not to mention most of the historic and tourist places are almost free or absolutely free.
In my experience, life in a smaller city is very much easy going. People are more than happy to assist you because they are not always in a rush. The environment itself is more relaxed and everything is almost always at ease, which is a great relief than seeing anxious and stressed people everywhere. To get transport you know there are fewer people which means you always have a seat and there is no stress of long lines to purchase items or be in a bank amongst other things.
The feeling of belonging is always amongst the good things of a smaller city. The residents are more than happy to welcome people from different places. It is always exciting to meet other people from other places. When you make friends in such environments you know these are friends for life and as well there is genuity in these meetings. Feelings are real and the joy cannot be mistaken.
Talk about being comfortable, this is the other greater reason to settle in a smaller city. Firstly it is not hard to understand roads and the way of things, therefore in no time you can do things independently. I remember when I stayed in a big city and it took me ages before I could master my way to school. However in such places you easily blend in the way of life, which is not mostly difficult to do. So in my opinion if you love a relaxed environment that does not have too much hustles, so that you can also catch up on life, go for smaller cities. I would suggest though that you do some research of the specific place because every place is always different in its own way. I hope this helped!
